The International Society of Organoid Research (ISoOR), a global leader in organoid research, is spearheading the development of international standards for organoid biobanking: ISoOR-International Standards for Organoid Biobanking (ISoOR-ISOB). These standards aim to provide unified guidance and regulations for the establishment and management of organoid biobanks worldwide. As organoid models continue to play a crucial role in drug discovery, disease modeling, and personalized medicine, the ISoOR-ISOB standards will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity, reproducibility, and accessibility of organoid samples for researchers globally.

Standards

The ISoOR-ISOB Development was conceived during the ISoOR 2023 Singapore International Conference. Here is a picture of most of our committee members reunited to initialize this endeavor. Since then, we have achieved several hallmarks regarding the steps necessary to develop the international standard, which are resumed in this roadmap.
