About the Meeting

A landmark international collaboration in the field of organoid research has commenced in Jiangmen. The International Society of Organoid Research (ISoOR), a global leader in organoid research, is spearheading the development of international standards for organoid biobanking: ISoOR-International Standards for Organoid Biobanking (ISoOR-ISOB).    These standards aim to provide unified guidance and regulations for the establishment and management of organoid biobanks worldwide.

After months of online discussions and feedback collection, ISoOR has gathered expert opinions from countries including the United States, China, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, India, and New Zealand. These experts, with profound academic backgrounds in organoid research and extensive experience in biobank establishment and operations, have provided a solid scientific foundation, practical applications, and a broad international perspective for the development of the ISoOR-ISOB standards.

Professor Peter Lobie, the Academician of the Royal New Zealand Academy of Sciences, as Chairman of ISoOR, provided valuable guidance to the conference with his profound academic insight and visionary perspectives.Professor Nam-Hyung Kim, the Academician of the Korean Academy of Sciences, not only provided venue support for the conference but also brought in depth discussion with his professional opinions.

Lead by the above academicians, experts conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas on the cultivation, storage, data processing, and quality control of organoids, and reached a broad consensus.

In addition, the participation of industry partners brought new vitality to the conference.    Representatives of  companies such as Aimingmed, Hisense, ALT Biotech, and Haier not only shared valuable opinions from the industry point of view but also demonstrated the potential and challenges of organoid technology in practical applications. These insights and needs of the industry provide a practical basis for the development of standards, ensuring that the standards are practical and forward-looking.

The success of the conference marks a solid step by ISoOR in promoting the international standardization of organoid biobanks. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the experts and industry partners who participated in the conference for their hard work and valuable contributions. At the same time, we look forward to the development of ISoOR-ISOB standards as soon as possible to provide better support for global organoid research and application.
