In this webinar, Dr. Lujun Yang will share insights into the establishment of a living skin equivalent (LSE) composed of human amnion and skin cells, and its clinical application in repairing skin defects. This session aims to promote advancements in organoid technology and foster collaboration in regenerative medicine.

Abstract of Speech

  • The living skin equivalent (LSE) was established with human amnion as the matrix upon which the keratinocytes and fibroblasts were seeded on either side. The epidermis stratification was accomplished by air-lift cultivation.

  • The LSEs were applied successfully in repairing skin defects due to skin lesion resection.

  • LSEs with amnion as the matrix presented good physical characteristics such as flexibility, extensibility and good histology with well-differentiated epidermis and well-developed basement membrane.
